FIVE CONDOM POEM is a love poem printed on five separate condom wrappers. They read:

LOVE IS OPENING ME

BIGGER AND BIGGER

I FEEL YOU EVERYWHERE

YOU MAKE ME SO FULL

I COULD BURST

Have you ever been in total sync with someone - every tiny movement mirrored and amplified by each other? When it’s a delight to be in service of each other's pleasure - when it feels like truths about life unveil themselves before you - when many magic hours slip by like nothing?

The condoms comment on themselves as both medium for transmission and barrier for preventing transmission. This project responds to the pain caused from the relationship in SCHMIDT WALLETS. What if loving didn’t hurt?

Boundaries are capable of bringing people closer together. They are containers for freedom and play. They are also the site of negotiation, mundane violence, and intimate betrayals. What, then, does protection really mean?

Consent is and isn’t verbal. It's a multi-layered dance where permission is exchanged through dialogue, contact, slow escalation, and sensitivity to response. Nuance, attunement, and trust are what make consent erotic. Real protection, then, comes from being considered by someone sensitive to what you actually need.
